Wendell Lakin, 62 SACO — Wendell Lakin, 62, of Saco, passed away Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born on Aug. 11, 1946, in Shawnee, Okla., the son of Edward and Cordelia Maize Lakin. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Madeleine Bonsaint Lakin of Saco; four sons, George Lakin of Saco, Geoffrey Lakin and his wife Chasity of Biddeford, Nathaniel ‘Pete’ Mincher of Warren, Wendell Janzen and his wife Jennifer of Alabama, four daughters, Brandy McKenney and her husband Kurt of Westbrook, Shannon Chapman and her husband Mark of Arundel, Dede Jeffers and her husband Erik of Biddeford, Stormie Janzen of Washington, D.C.; one brother, Lindell Lakin of Shawnee, Okla., one sister, Deana Belshe Shawnee, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Good Shepherd Parish, in Saco. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
